Welcome to Spilt Milk! Food is the most social thing we do. It also reveals much about our true character. We were inspired by the questionnaire made famous by Marcel Proust, the French essayist and novelist, and decided to create a set of questions we call Spilt Milk. We hope you enjoy this ongoing series on our blog.

Jo Packham is the creator & Editor-in Chief of Where Women Cook and Where Women Create magazines. Follow her on Foodily here.

How do you take your morning coffee?
I don’t drink coffee but I do love my Starbuck’s Venti Iced Chi with 8 pumps, skim milk, and extra ice. When I am on the road it is the “continuity” that makes me feel like I am home or with friends.

Do you have a guilty pleasure?
 (food related please!)
That would be “Little Diggers” from Sundaes Best Hot Fudge. An ice cream wooden spoon and a small jar of the BEST chocolate I have personally ever tasted … and I consider myself an “expert” in all things chocolate!

What’s your perfect meal?

That would be a cheeseburger well done with Swiss cheese, avocado, and a very fresh bun; crispy fries with fry sauce; and homemade chocolate cake … not necessarily in that order!

What’s your worst kitchen disaster?

There have been so many … how could I possibly choose?!

What’s the cooking skill you lack?

Following a recipe … I would prefer to use it as a guide or an idea and then add, subtract, and do as I will.

Your favorite kitchen gadget?

Oh my hell, that has to be my Vitamix. I cannot imagine life without one!

You wouldn’t be caught dead eating. . .

Sardines

Most memorable meal?

That would have to be when I was young, dating a very romantic older guy who took me into a 5 Star restaurant in Chicago, ordered my favorite cheeseburger and a bottle of Dom Perignon, and then toasted to us and the new memories that we would create together!

What’s your favorite spice?

Nutmeg

Midnight snack of choice?

Raw fresh snap peas with honey mustard dressing for dipping sauce.

What’s your food Mantra?
Ok, just one more …because I so deserve it!
