Foodily iPhone App Surpasses 100,000 Downloads In First 10 Days

Posted on 5th Dec, 2011 by Hillary Mickell

In its first week since launch, we’ve seen over 100,000 downloads of our new free iPhone app. Popular recipes from major sources to little known bloggers have soared as people share and photograph their favorite recipe discoveries.

Some Thanksgiving holiday highlights:
• The most shared Turkey recipe was Alton Brown’s Good Eats Roast Turkey. The recipe includes allspice berries and candied ginger.
• The most shared Pumpkin Pie recipe was from The Pioneer Woman. Her Pumpkin Cream Pie can be made on the stove saving precious oven space.
• The most shared Stuffing recipe was Acorn Squash with Chili Lime Vingairette from Smitten Kitchen – using spice to balance out the sweetness.

Chicken Lizzie by Elizabeth Minchilli in Rome garnered over 700 saves while over 700 people have saved zucchini scallion cakes by Big Girls Small Kitchen, and The Family Dinner is keeping people healthy with Fruity Frozen Yogurt, which got over 300 saves.

“People trust friends’ opinions and Foodily has opened up recipes so there can be true sharing of all the healthy meals from The Family Dinner cookbook,” says producer and author Laurie David. “It’s a new and exciting way to show people that cooking at home is easy and encourage family meals.”

Food, we love you.
